"The Wild Child"
As far back as I can remember I have been hunting for wild foods and playing the guitar. I was raised in a family that couldn’t wait for the first signs of spring, because that was when the morels and leeks would be appearing, and when sassafras root was harvested. And I remember the times of neighborhood sing alongs after a long day of mushroom hunting. Since those early days, I have continued to seek out those tasty offerings of the woods and sing songs of the Earth.
Where the Wild Foods Grow is a natural offshoot of my lifetime love of all things wild. Direct from the earth to your table, we are offering seasonally available wild foods such as mushrooms, nuts, herbs, maple sugar, wild rice, and unusual food products like dehydrated watermelon, a mouthwatering treat. All foods are hand-harvested with gratitude, respect, and ecological consciousness. I hope you will enjoy these nutritious and healing foods. Contact us for our offerings.
Our mission at Where the Wild Foods Grow is to respectfully and sustainably harvest wild foods and offer these products and also educational programs to promote healthy living, conservation, and awareness of the nutritional value of wild foods. We are committed to harvesting in the most ecologically sound way.
We are also committed to educating our customers and community about wild foods, including responsible harvesting techniques, nutritional value, and the benefit of harvesting in terms of getting people out into nature. By providing individuals with the most current harvesting recommendations, we believe that we can promote both conservation and responsible harvesting for personal consumption.
